During the last couple of months of 2020, more and more cases of pedophilia and child abuse are getting in the news headlines. Just this January, Euro News has reported that there were around 150 child sex offences reported in the Vatican over the last 15 years. Many of the suspects, priests, of these child molestations are still in the Vatican and said to have been under “rehabilitation” or also called “house arrest”. However, this causes many controversies as some critics say that the Church only “set up facilities for priests, while there are no state offices for the victims". Up to now more and more child victims are bravely speaking out against their predators and more and more investigations are being done by the authorities in places like, Italy, France, Spain, Mexico, and even in some Asian countries.

Meanwhile, a certain Reverend Randolph Brown was arrested just last month in Ohio and was charged of two counts of compelling prostitution. Brown, a 64 years old bible teacher and was the chaplain for the Hudson Youth Development Center for over 27 years, was said to be running the Inner-City Missionary Baptist Church in Cleveland. For nearly 3 decades, Brown was maintaining a high level of authority and was trusted by the kids and their family because of his position and works. Documents from the court show that Brown is accused of paying two girls aged 14 and another aged 15, for sex in 2018. However, Brown pleaded not guilty.
On the other hand, a former Dayton Children’s Hospital psychologist named Dr. Greg Ramey, 70 years old, was charged with 145 criminal counts related to child pornography by a grand jury indictment in Greene County. Ramey was arrested last month and is now in Greene County Jail. According to the written statement by the Attorney General named Dave Yost, there are suspected “more than 40 child victims”.
Given that child sexual abuse, trafficking, pedophilia, and child pornography are still very common these days, it is important that you do your part to help spare or save the children from this victimization and abuse.
